when sun confronted lil' ricky about this, listen to his inflection and his word choice.

does anyone else get the impression that richard doesn't know of hurley/jack/etc from 2004? if it's possible that richard's timeline isn't as straightforward as we know, then he could have quite the convoluted one.

when locke meets the others in 2004 just before the wheel turns, they're wearing their rustic attire. why?? and why does richard have long hair when ben first encounters him, despite us seeing a clean-cut, short haired richard before that time?

i guess what i'm saying is, i've always had it in the back of my mind that richard just kind of chilled on the island, one day at a time, regularly (albeit agelessly) throughout the storyline and still doing so in 2007 (or is it 08?). but lately i'm beginning to question that. anyone have the same feeling?

it also seems kind of fishy that 90% of the time we see him, he's wearing the same clothes.

Yes! I started a thread a few days ago called Richard is Time Traveling from the Future! And yes, if he is time jumping back and forth from the future plus we are watching a very skewed timeline of an island with its own time difference from the real world things can begin to get very hairy! I agree with what you are saying. Today I was asking a simple question...where does Richard live? We see Ben's house in new Otherton and everyone elses but not Richard's. Not a sign of it. So, yes I agree....

I think he's more of a tent camp nature guy rather than a nice house in the suburbs guy

Well the Island with all those special EM pockets and things...
Richard who is from the future....
Of course he has a induction Iron directly working on the EM pocket of the Island.
