in an earlier season, juliet was seen holding a steven king novel. you could not see the name however. last night there was a fake commercial during the show (you know how lost does that from time to time) that said the name of the book.

the book was Duma Key by Steven King. it is a book where a man gets into a severe accident, and when he recovers, he is depressed and has thoughts of suicide. i smell a comparison!!!

Here's a clip from the plot overview
"Because of the excruciating pain resulting from the accident and the subsequent recovery, Edgar also has violent mood swings and thoughts of suicide. The accident also takes a toll on his personal life"

let me know if anyone has done better research than me!!

i was making a reference to jack in the season 3 finale. he was gonna jump off the bridge.

Also locke was going to kill himself in the ditch, until walt showed up and said he had work to do.

the commercial wasn't a fake...the Duma Key is an actual new release by Stephen King...Whether or not it makes reference to LOST i don't know but i think Stephen King can come up with his own stories...i don't hink it has anything to do with the show...also the book Juliet was holding had Stephen King written in bold red letters at the top of the book...the Duma Key has his name written in the middle in black letters and being as the book is brand new there is only that print of it...therefor Juliet could not have been holding that book...I agree with stream because something about Carrie was mentioned at book club
