Who was that guy Jacob was talkin 2 in the beginning... that is who is in control of Locke now and the reason y "new" Locke knew so much about the island. ... is that guy to Jacob like what Ben and Widdy are to each other.. probably.. But who is he.. Guess we have to w8 til next yr.. but he looked really familiar. Have we seen him b4?

i thought the same thing , whomever the man was talking to jacob is who took over lockes body and also christian . but what i dont understand is why locke thought he had to die . if i remember correctly richard told him this but it was the guy from the beginning that was speaking to richard then . so does this person or entity have to reside in a body ? so whos body was he inhabiting before christian is what i want to know .

pretty sure new locke/christian/"esau" and the beast are the same thing, or facets of it
