Jacob has foreseen his own death, and by visiting all the O6 (and touching them apparently), he is bringing them back to change the past and save himself. This is what he meant (in the big picture) when he told Locke "Help me." So now, thanks to Jacob, time will change.
Yes?

But was that Jacob who said "help me" or the man in black? It seems more likely the man in black was trapped somewhere and would want help

I believe your right..was Jacob ever in the cabin during this show? I think NOT,
Iilana said "he" left and hasnt been here for quite awhile.
I think Jacob's enemy was always in the cabin

Jacob visited Locke and made him well (possibly even raised him from the dead there). So Jacob obviously wanted Locke to be on the island. I think Jacob was a prisoner in that cabin until the ash ring was broken. And Jacob had the Losties come to the island and come back to it to change the past and thus change the future. It was a long-term plan, just like Smokie's plan was.

I don't think the cabin ever really was Jacob's, at least not as we've seen it. Ben admitted that he's never seen him and was scared by all the stuff flying around when he was in there with Locke. Ricardus seemed pretty clear that Jacob lived in the foot of the statue (he didn't say it was a summer home away from the cabin or anything). Locke has only seen Christian and Claire in the cabin. My bet is that Smoke Dawg gave Locke the dream about Horace to trick him into going to the cabin, where he then assumed the identity of Christian who was lying to Locke all along, in order to convince him he was "special" and had to die, such that he could eventually assume Locke's identity to scare Ben into following his every word.

I think the cabin was once Jacob's. It would make sense for him to have another place, besides his under the foot of the statue residence, to send people he did not want to see, (i.e. Ben). It seems that Anti-Jacob has been using the cabin for his own purposes for some time, mainly for manipulating John.
My question is, who pinned the picture of Anubis, (or whatever it was), to the wall of the cabin with a machette? The only person I can come up with is Anti-Jacob in the form of Locke. He has ventured into the jungle by himself a few times before last night's episode, so he seems like a likely candidate. Why though? Maybe to put out the message that he is back and prepared to kill Jacob? Ilana and Bram looked spooked when they found that picture, and right now I have the impression they are on the side of Jacob.

Didn't Illana say that he hasn't been here for a while and somebody else has been using it?
