Sorry if I missed something, but who was the 'big death' in this episode we were told about?
Sayid didn't actually die, did he? And Juliet was still actually alive when the bomb presumably went off - anything could happen to her now.
Perhaps REAL Locke is actually the big death? I dunno.

Umm...everyone died? Well except for Ben and the Pilot and Sun.
Dude...What?

We dont know that anybody died. Hell, we dont even know if Juliet actually detonated the bomb.

Hmm...you did not see the gigantic flash that held for 2 whole second on the last rock strike?
Nobody "mortal" survives an atomic bomb at ground zero....they are dead....at least for now in this time period.

Juliet is dead. It's not gonna be a big long explosion. She was right there so she disingrated(sp?) in a millionth of a second thats why it flashed to white so fast.
And Locke was kind of a big reveal death. B/c he has been dead since Ben strangled him.

was brought up in another thread that perhaps the "flash" may have been another time jump??? and not the actual explosion.

I do think it's safe to say that anyone in 1977 could be either alive or dead at this point, and there's nothing definitive to prove it either way...

Its the "same thing"....explosion and time jump. But in that time line...they are dead.
Blowing up an atomic bomb that close to the magnetic anomoly created the "time warp". Scientifically it could be easily to postulate that as "feasible"

If they are dead in that time line, they are dead forever, right. If what your are saying is true, then is there "A" Daniel running around in 2008 alive and well?

The only death that is for sure from this episode is the great Phil everyone else who knows.

Nope...that event is what created the time anomoly/time wrap/time loop (its both the creation point and the end point).....they will die in 1977 and simultaneously be sent to their now present....and end the time loop /time wrap forever. The whole time thing is now done I believe.
It has already been said earlier in the show "I watched them all die"
There are 2 separate time lines....thats the essense of a time anomoly.
If the well is drilled without a bomb going off, X happens.
If the well is drilled with a bomb going off, Y happens.

remember richard said he watched them all die. he was far away, with eloise, when the explosion went off. i would think that they lived while everyone else died.

Poor Phil . . . no love lost for him . . .
So all those from the future that were in the past, and other's like Miles' dad might be alive and kicking if Daniel's idea worked and the bomb erased the chain of events that eventually ends up killing Jacob. One thing that puzzles me . . . why did Daniel tell Jack he wasn't supposed to be there if in fact he is the one that finishes what Daniel was trying to do . . .
