So if the Cabin is burned then what is its significance? Jacob lives in the statue so why is the cabin that Horace built important? My only thought was if it is a place more for the "anti-Jacob" than actually Jacob.

Well then that makes me think everyone resurrected has something to do with anti-Jacob and perhaps Ilana and company were going to the cabin to kill anti-Jacob

Bingo!! I think the anti Jacob may have been trapped in that cabin, perhaps by the surrounding ash ring. And someone broke that ring and he got out.
First off, i know the pic of the profile of the guy who was in the cabin when we heard "help me" was a crew member, but that profile looks absolutely nothing like Jacob and could never be mistaken for Jacob, whereas it could look alot like the man in black from the beach.
Second off-Hurley is/has been a great judge of good and evil. When he saw the cabin and the person in the cabin, it scared the hell out of him and he ran. I think he saw evil in that cabin

yea i think the man in black from the first seen with Jacob was the one in the cabin I think he was some how inprisoned and he escaped when the ash ring around the cabin was disrupted . So when Ilana went to kill him she saw the picture of the statue and knew thats where he went .

Great point. Also im sorry but the cabin was built after the Purge right? SO why Horace and how does he really tie in with Jacob and anti-Jacob unless it does have to do with the anti-Jacob taking his form after the death of Horace
