i noticed that the people jacob touches when they meet (jin, hurley, kate, jack, syied) they all went back to 1977 in the plane when it flashes, while eveyone else on the plane when to 2007. thought it was interesting, like jacob chose them to go back in time.

not the people he touched but the people he gave something to. jack got the candy bar, kate got the lunchbox, hurley got the guitar, jin got sun (a stretch, but it works).
