I think this is a new point of observation so...

I just noticed something that I may be totally wrong about and welcome any correction and reminders if someone else has already mentioned it... but, I noticed that Sayid's (sp?) scar from a gunshot wound on his upper left shoulder is visible as a scar when he’s on the island (same spot as where he was shot in the hotel room). When his upper body can be seen in the hotel room there is no scar there until he’s shot of course.

I know that this show has some strange “time/warp” events involved. Am I just seeing things, did they make a huge editing error (not likely with these people) or is it true that the events taking place in what we consider current time actually occurred before they were on the island?

What do you think?

Maybe s/he thought it would get lost? I'm going to post the almost exact same answer haha..

I saw that too, but Sayid's bullet wound on his upper arm, near his shoulder, is from the island when he went to see Patchy.

For it to be gone in the future is probably not an editing error, but instead it may be just assumed that it would have healed after a few years.

Plus, Elsa shoots him in the chest, not the arm/shoulder.

If what your referring to is under the already existing post of “looking for clues” that was me. Sorry.

That could well be. thanks for the response.. however, I tried to look very closely (that doesn't make me gay does it? :-) at his upper body in the hotel room and I see absolutely no scar at all. A bullet wound like that should stay for your lifetime... I know from Nam, for what it's worth..

Anyway, I'm sure we'll learn more. Love the show.

Well, either way, he was shot in the shoulder on the Island and in the chest by Elsa, so it's most definitely two different spots.

Thanks again, but I'm afraid that supports a serious editing error. The bullet wound clearly visible on the Island should certainly be visible in the hotel room. I will look more closely. Remember from the age of Aaron it must be within 2 to 4 years since they've left the island. That is of course, unless the scenes with Kate and her child Aaron occur at much different times than Sayid's run-in with the assassin. Which is possible I'm sure.

They might occur at different times, but I would think they wouldn't be too far apart.. Everything I hear or read from the producers hints that they aren't trying to play games with the show.. as in, they aren't trying to confuse us any more than the show does already!

But yeah, you're right, even after a few years a wound like that should leave a scar.
