i think i have figured out why the others couldn't have babys but clair did! rember in the first season, when clair stoped feeling Arron? well she felt him kick after she ate some of jin's fish thing, so now think... the baby problem must have happened arround the time the DARHMA's were wiped off the island... and if you are a bunce of "others" on an island and you haven't eaten anything but fruit and fish for years and all of a sudden there is a bunch of free food from DARHMA, wouldn't you eat it? then you stop eating the fish! and without the fish, no babys!

It is my estimation the reason is linked to
1) the button
2) radiation from Jughead
3) the gases from the Purge

If time is reset every 108 minutes fetus' can't grow normally
if the island has emitted radiation from Jughead (under the barracks) this makes sense
The purge is less likely but hey ... what do we know?

Could be diet related; Jacob eats fish and we don't know what anti-Jacob eats

the gas would be long gone, i think the radition from the bomb is either gone or if time resets every 108 minuts it wouldn't have time to give off radition, but it's halflife would have disapaded itself. and the baby was borne before the swan... stoped...

People are allowed to work on the island now, but are not allowed to reproduce. When Clair's child was born, it was considered a miricle because up to that point all the babies died. Clair named her baby Aaron (the first name in the name dictionary) Naming the child Adam would have been a dead give away.

What about Ethan? They were able to give birth on the island until a certain point in time. Prob something to do with the bomb (if it did go off) and the incident.

it is confusing when ppl just spit out there ideas, with out knowing all the lost facts, i own all seasons, watch them when i can, and now that we may be going "Full-circle" i will have to watch all season again, anyhow... I wouldnt say that the Hatch was resetting Time every 108 mins,the button was pushed to keep the energy "at bay"
Now The baby deal, i believe has something to do with the statue, its a fertility statue and at some point it gets attack/broken/Its only a foot, who really know but i love guessing. also something i thought was interesting, i dont have the link , but i believe that Aaron, in the biblical sense, is a greatgreatgreat grandson of Jacob, which is why the fortune teller tells claire that she must raise him***Aaron must goto island and stay there with her, not leave the island and be raised by kate and then claires mother eventually***so that aaron may take jacobs place maybe. i could go on forever but i best not

May I ask you what kind of mechanism the button is connected with.
I mean if you push a button that is not connected to any mechanism or electronics nothing will happen.
So what system is connected to entering the numbers and push enter, to keep the energy "at bay" like you call it?

Is there every 108 minutes like a small hydrogen bomb exploding to keep that energy at bay?
Or is there another way? And what would that be?
