Daniel told Frank to folow the exact cordance. it's explained that Desmond will have some type of freak out that makes them fly off the course that Dan wanted Frank to stay on and that is the reason we see what appears to be an electrical storm. Desmond is aiming to fly into this. Why? did he have a vision? Was it fate calling outto him that he must do this? But I belive we find out what exactly happends when you folow the cordance that Ben gave Mike and teh same one that Dan gave Frank. Except they want make the end. Desmond will have his freak out sesion and this make sthem fly off course. I belive that is why the chopter was caught in that electrical storm. They got of fthe correct path. It's like a stable point of electromagtis. if you touch any part other than the desnate dpath. You become involved into unstable Electromagtism in teh form of a massive electrical storm.

i don't think that its a storm...maybe another dimension...i agree the Des might try to go through because of some crazy vision...remember though..he isn't always rite

815 was in clear skies during the crash when we saw them in the very first episode.

yeah but what brought them down was when des couldn't make it back to put the numbers in in time and the electromagnetic field separated the plane....maybe they were flying near some type of other dimension and the force was so powerful it caused the crash...or maybe they were all brought there on purpose by oceanic...ie planned

Perhaps that was what the hatch was keeping contained, and unleashed after it was destroyed. Some electromagnetic field that encompesses the island and manifests itself as an electrical storm...

I pretty sure the plane had trouble with turbulence - could that be the electrical storm. I remember a scene with Jack putting on his seatbelt and the intercom mentioned about turbulence... does this ring any bells with anyone else?

Yes Desmond came threw a electrical storm coming to the island. That wasthe reason his boat crashed on the island.

815 was a clear sky. But was struct by a electrical curent called electromagtsim which makes up electricty. The island natural give sthis off by an extream powerful amount. the Genrater in the Hatch was maintaining the electromagtism to a point in which it would be stable. When Des sliped up on the button. it caused for a few mins of powerful blast of electromagtism on the island. What gets me on that. Is teh fact when 815 expireance the buttonnot being pushed. They where the only object in the sky that was effected by the electromagtsim otherthan a miner trimer in the barracts. When The Hatch was disabled. The entire island was rocked to Hell and back. Sure it was feeling the full impact of the electromagtism where 815 only felt a miner bit. That may b ethe case as to why.

Im glaade you broughtthis subject up. In the last forum i was a part of we all had a big disscussion on this movie and it's possable relations it has to LOST.

Ellie enters the Machine and it is activated, creating a massive energy vortex in the core of the machine through which Ellie's transport pod passes. Inside, Ellie travels at immense speed through a series of wormholes, eventually losing consciousness. She awakens on a beach that resembles childhood drawings she had made of the beach at Pensacola. An entity approaches her which slowly takes the form of her deceased father. Ellie realizes the experience is not real, and that the aliens have created the environment after downloading her thoughts and memories. She talks briefly with the alien, who explains there are many more civilizations in space. Ellie wants to take proof back with her to earth, but is told this is the way it has been for billions of years. When the alien senses Ellie's desperation, he comforts her, adding that in the immensity of space, "the only thing we've found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other."

I found that part intresting. As to The losties awake on the island in a simuler fashion. Though it releate snothing to their lives. They do eventual find things that connect to their lives on the island. though yet. We have not seen any sighns that aliens have had an influance on the Lostie's exoerance on the island. I realy hop that it keeps that way. i wa skinda mad thatthey went a supernatural path in LOSt. imean i love the supernatural just as teh next guy. But i wa shopingthat LOSt didn't turn out that way. Perhaps it's not complete supernatural, but boarder line with a logical and scientific explamation to the events that have taken place on the island..

It relate sto LOST as to how time seems to be behind the current time. Unless some how the island has two seprate time zones . Which it is a pretty huge island. Perhaps it doesn't stand still as the other land masses of Earth which takes massive of millions of yrs to even move in a fashion which is noticed. Perhaps the island moves on it's own axes so to speak. How and why? I hav eno clue. Im just throwing out a bone to nible on.

No,Desmond get's on the chopter to head for the freighter. But apparantly, they don't make it. Because when Jack and juliet call the freighter they say that noone has come to the frieghter.
