Does Ben make it off the island?

Ok, just thinking out loud.... does Ben even make it off the island?

Will he get shot? if he gets shot will he die or does he have 9 lives?
if he left who would in be charge of the Others?

People have been sent to get him but will they succeed? what do they want with him?

Obviously only a selected few actually know the location of the island, I think Ben does, so if he got off he would know how to go back and he doesn't want to leave the island..

fill the gaps, what's your thoughts?

Ben does get off the island....i think that he goes back and forth when he needs to...i think that he will be around until the very end as so much depends on him...i think that Ben has the ultimate knowledge of the island's powers and secrets and this is what the "rescuers" want...i think at this moment if he left...locke would possibly take over the others (richard and them have seemed to think this before)...Ben's character is amazing and so complex that i think we have only seen a tiny view into his world

Ben is off the island in ep. 3 but HOW does this happen if we are to think he goes back and forth. Locke blew up the sub. did they have something else to transport them??I know they had a boat but Michael and Walt took that. Are there any other means off the island?
