I was re-watching dead is dead and a thought struck me: what if both jacob and Anti-Jacob can become a cloud of smoke? meaning, there is not just one smoke monster, but that whatever these two are, part of their abilities is to turn into smoke. there are times that we have seen smokie on a murderous rampage and other times where it just gathered information. maybe there is not just one smokie.
also, after the finale, i thought it was pretty clear that man in black shirt was now walking around as locke based on first scene conversation and jacob's death scene conversation. i do not think its that clear that this same entity is also smokey. there is evidence for either possibility. on the one hand, in dead is dead "locke" does disappear from the temple basement when smokie and alex arrive, and the threat to ben certainly falls in line with what anti-jacob needs to happen. on the other hand, the anti-jacob APPEARED genuinely surprised by ben's revelations that he was told by his dead daughter to do whatever locke wanted. also, its possible that anti-jacob was merely alex and not smokie in dead is dead. that jacob was smokie, let ben live and then anti-jacob appeared as alex and told him what to do.

Thinking back to "Dead is Dead", I had a similar thought. Except I think only one of them is the smoke monster (anti-Jacob), and Jacob is something else, and I found this screencap, taken from the Temple when Ben is going to be judged by smokie.
Any else think this could be a picture of Jacob and anti-Jacob in their true forms? This picture seems two depict to opposing sides, (Jacob vs. his adversary). Plus, It seems both Jacob and anti-Jacob have powers beyond normal men, so this could very well be a picture of them when they are not in human form.
Also, and I may be mistaken, but I believe the figure on the right, (not sure exactly who it is), is the same figure as the statue on the Island, where Jacob happens to live. Could be a coincidence, but it could also be something more.

i had the same thoughts about that glyph when re-watching dead is dead after the finale. this pic has a lot more meaning and possibilities now. and it does seemingly depict the two sides. the jacob and the anti-jacob with the eye of horace between them. i wonder what their disagreement is really about. there must be something at stake for the two entities. the island? or whether the island should or should not be inhabited by or revealed to people? it does look like the same figure as the statue, and it seems very plausible that there is a statue of jacob erected on the island.

I'm going back and rewatching all the "monster" scenes from earlier seasons...really think there are two distinct monsters, smokey and lighty. The first time John sees the monster it is a bright light and he says something about "I looked into the eye of this island and what I saw was beautiful" then after he is attacked by smokey and almost dragged into the ground he says he was attacked by what looked like a column of black smoke. So I am seriously thinking that there are two different monsters. One believes that people are basically good (Jacob) and one thinks they are basically bad (anti-jacob) that is what the opening teaser in the finale is about, I think.

But when smokie tried to drag John down the rabbit hole, John was willing to go and he said that it would not hurt him. I don't think that there are two smoke monsters. John was the loophole because he saw smokie differently. He saw it as something benevolent in nature and it was not.
