I don't think it's Mikael's eye. I think the producers made it clear on the season 3 DVD that he was officially dead.
If you go back to last year's "man behind the curtain" episode. There was a quick closeup shot of Jacob's eye, and this looks just like it to me!
Everyone has there own theories, but it looked like the same eye to me.

Hmmm...I thought that the eye was Locke....I think Locke went to Jacob to ask for advice after Jack called for the ship, and was in the cabin when Hurley looked in. That's why Locke was there right after Hurley ran away, and why Locke was holding the torch that Hurley dropped right in front of Jacob's cabin.

Check that out, they look similar but I am still not sure.Mikhail's eye has more wrinkles, but the cabin eye is open wider, could cause wrinkles to clear out.
I am not sure enough, what do you guys think

I think its lockes eye. Because, jacob was sitting in the chair, then the person is at the window? it doesn't add up it has to be locke, cuz he was there right after hurley fell over.

It appears to me that the eye is actually Jacob, and the man in the rocking chair is Jack's dad. I think we just inherently think that there positioning would be Jacob in the chair and someone else looking out the hole.
Perhaps Jacob will be using Jack's dad to manipulate Jack...

Yea im not sure on making any inquires on JACOB yet.....i need 2 know more info on RICHARD 1rst....he seems 2 be the KEY!
Does anyone think the eye looks a bit like Ben's Dad? The one who he supposedly killed in the VW beetle? Could he be Jacob?

The eye belongs to HURLEY :) He's looking at himself. When they show Hurley looking in, they fade out his left eye but show his right eye, the head that pops up is the opposite, right eye is shaded out, left is visible!! Definitely Hurley.

Look at the eyebrow. The man looking out of the cabin is indeed Hurley, which doesn't seem to make him any more sane.

If you read the posting about Station 6: Orchid we see that they may be bringing cloinging and time travel into the show?? Who knows, it could be Hurley looking at himself?? It's just a thought, I had originally thought it was Locke's eye but I'm open to anything and everything, you never can tell with this show.

Comon guys... lets put a little bit more thought into it. (directed towards the people who think it is Locke's eye). John Locke, or Terry O'Quinn, has BLUE eyes... this eye is clearly not blue.

I agree, the show wants us to think its Locke since they had him standing over Hurley right after Hurley freaked out. I think the eye is going to be someone we wouldn't expect. Locke just seems way too obvious.

I think it's Jacob's eye. We know that some people can see the dead, and Hurley is one of them. Hence seeing Charlie in the flash-forward. That's what makes Locke so 'special'; he can see the dead as well.
Wasn't Echo able to see the dead as well?

The Eye belongs to Jacob. If you go back to "The Man Behind the Curtain" were Locke first meets Jacob, there is a quick shot of an eye looking at Locke. If you examine to two shots closely you can see the two have the same creepy wide open look.

i think one of the more important factors here is that we can see christian shepherd in the chair...but its a hurley POV shot.
Hurley has seen Dave and Charlie the same way but he physically interacted with them. Hes never seen christian before so why would he see him?
The eye was most likely locke but i doubt he was going to see jacob, and i doubt the cabin was really there. Think about it sawyer had just walked a few steps ahead and hurley had gotten lost, when ben took locke to see jacob they were deep inside the island, and a border of volcanic ash surrounded his cabin.
Personally, i think it was all the smoke monster. Which would explain why someone who died (Jacks dad) was visible, why when hurley opened his eyes the cabin was in a different place, and why locke's eye appeared as he was moments away.
Also, think about how the monster presents itself. I think the island was trying to warn hurley about what was going to happen if he left the island, and suddenly locke appears to reaffirm this. I think that is why he went with locke. Just an idea...

This. I posted a pic on this site a few months back showing exactly those two eyes.
However, I think you should be careful in jumping to the conclusion that it's Jacob's eye. I think the most we can say [and very carefully] is that the eye belonged to the same person in both cases - whoever that may be.

is that article real? i had a look back at the scene where locke meets jacob and i swear that glimpse of jacob looks slim. it cant be hogu whos being filmed...
also i dont think it locke in the cabin when higu sees it because a few episodes later locke is struggling to find the cabin when hes leading everyone to the barracks...

Just a couple things. The first eye up there is green. The second eye is dark brown almost black. Now, I have read in a bunch of spots about everyones eye change. I know you guys have too. I guess when Hurley and Jack were playing basketball their eyes were different colors. We have to figure out why they change colors. When does this happen.

Talks about how so many shows open with a closeup of someone's eye, and there are screen captures of each episode to show the person's eye. Of course, this only points to Flight 815 people...

I think I've finally figured it out...
The eye is Walt Disney's!
When he died he had his body frozen so that when a cure for cancer was discovered he could be thawed out and treated.
Well, while the father of the Mouse was on ice, his people accidentally found out about the island while looking for yet another location for a Disney park.
Finding out that the island has healing powers, Uncle Walt was brought there and thawed out.
He is now handling the details of the newest theme park - The Island - and the survivors are the unwitting test subjects.
This is an "E" ticket (since being thawed out, Walt has reinstated the ride tickets to increase revenues) and it includes simulation of a widebody jet breakup at 5,000 feet; blowing the hatch off the Donald Duck Hatch and visiting Uncle Walt's animatronic self at the creepy shack.
Ben Linus is the project manager and is reporting directly to Uncle Walt. It was Ben's idea to throw in the scary helicopter ride and the time displacement addition for the price of the new "F" ticket (as in if you are stupid enough to get f&@k by us for buying this ticket, we're willing to take your money).
Oceanic has an exclusive contract with Disney to fly visitors there. On the flight, the music selection includes the Eagles Hotel California...

Desmond seems closest to resembling that eye, but nah! And those blue eyes of Ben cannot possibly be. And green or blue, it's def NOT Locke's eye.
I still have doubts that Jacob in the chair is even the popular theory Christian Shephard. I only know it's not lab coat man because Marvin Candle is Korean.

Why is that considered a theory? It was clearly Christian's image in the chair.
