I apologize if this has been already presented...but here is what I think happened.
Juliet smacked the bomb with a rock and it went off, however...the blast was contained by the extreme electromagnetic field and the heat from the blast actually sealed the pocket. After the dust settles, Dharma will come back, fill the hole with concrete and finish building the Swan. They will then discover that the EM energy builds up to dangerous levels and must be discharged every 108 minutes and even install a fail safe system to vent the pocket in case of an emergency. Just the way we remember it!
I think the most important part of the finale was when Miles pointed out that maybe this was all supposed to happen! Maybe the bomb was the incident...
So what do you think?

very plausible indeed.

I know this doesn't really proove that time can change, but I figured the fact that the others can't give birth was due to radiation poisoning. A fact Richard pointed out in the finale. Also, the fact that Cheng's hand still gets mangled is a strong indication as well.

I ma sorry I dont get what you mean by Changs hand being mangled having to do with radiation poisoning. And please refresh my memory when Richard pointed out about radiation poisoning. I am not saying he didnt, just dont recall when and where and to who e said it. he said he watched the people die but that could have very well been during the Purge. Radzinki lived through the so-called explosion of jughead if in fact it did detonate. So if it did, there were survivrs which i find very difficult durig a nuclear explosion in such close proximity. Radzinki and his men couldnt have gotten that far by foot.

I think he ment cheung about time not changing, his arm still gets messed up like we've seen in the present/future/whatever you wanna call this peirod of time. And the radition poisioning is very plausable, ethan was born before the incident and elouis is pregant and they're not injecting her 24/7.

I'm beginning to think maybe it is the losties destiny to go back in time and 'survive' the correct way, help jacob or whatever. I'm beginning to feel maybe this wasn't their destinty but WHH and now they have to sort it out and get back on track?? if elouis has always known what's happened until she shot her son, then maybe that's a sign of this time it's not gone right. I dont think this makes much sense but I re think and try and explain myself more easily.
