Jacob is in the Pilot
Jacob is represented by the Hurley Bird in the show. This is also how Jacob gets around on the island and gets off the island...he flies.
Check it out.
There you go...Jacob in the Pilot episode.

The Hurley bird is NOT a hyped up thing. What the bird says is immaterial. The Bird has a 16 foot wingspan...and its prehistoric. Why do you think its prehistorical and one of the few things living on the island? The only other thing on the island that old is Smokie and Jacob.
http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Hurley_Bird makes reference to the May4th 2007 podcast (its not a spoiler anymore since its 3 years old)...I listened to it and they very obviously say the bird seems to be significant to me...there is no more joking than any other podcast except saying this bird has never seen Hurley before he arrived on the island as its too large to be in LA. In the March 21, 2008 podcast they refused to comment on it when they were giving away clues. In other words, they thought the clue was too advanced for the timeline of the show.
One form of the Egyptian god Horus is a green falcon. This fits with the Egyptian themes of the show. There are numerous drawings of the falcon including on Jacobs tapestry.
The Hurley bird is Green.

Also birds are significant on the show and the reason is because of Jacob..you should be able to make that connection with the Hurley Bird and Horus.

Go watch the Pilot and listen for yourself and you will see that it is NOT a "natural" bird sound and loud and Charlie has been coached to stop and notice it with a WTF expression on his face. WHY? It should be obvious at this point.
What are people looking for a caption that comes across the screen and says: Charlie stops and hears Jacob disquised as a bird in the background.
Why do you think TPTB would make a 16 foot wingspan green prehistoric bird? Just for the hell of it. Trump the productions costs up a bit???

I see this as another question answered that the viewers think has not been answered. Its an example of why many people are not going to be satisfied that all questions have been answered at the end of the show and one of the things TPTB say we missed in Season 1.
Quote:
In season 1, Pilot part 1 start playing the episode at around 39:56 when Kate and Charlie are stepping over a big, downed tree.
You can hear a loud screech in the background and it sounds like it says "Hurley".
Charlie notices it and looks back like "what the hell?"
