I'm doing this on sort of an epiphany I had while thinking of Jack n why things transpired the way they did in 77...
I'm starting to think that Daniel was supposed to throw Jughead down the hole(not Jack)...he's pretty much the only 1 who can, so it explodes(we all know candidates can't kill themselves).......I know this sounds crazy, but read this with an open mind n think about it for a bit....
