I wasn't sure what to call this thread since I didn't want to spoil anything in the thread title where anyone could see it, but I thought we could reserve a topic for conversation about the Alternate Reality that seems to have been created as a result of Jughead's explosion.
IS it a result of Jughead's explosion?
I imagine it to be some kind of tangental universe - does it only come into existence from the moment we first see it, or has it existed since 1977?
I figured this would be a nice place to keep all conversations about 2004-B!

I think if that was the case then it would be kind of of pointless.
I think the alternate reality needs to play into the main story somehow, otherwise it's just going to be some kind of random soap opera, with the characters just going about their lives. Almost like a different show altogether. There HAS to be some relationship to the island and the shows mythology, even in the alternate universe.

yeah i see what you mean but it could be just a case of what would have happened if the plane landed as planned but showing you that in someway theyre lifes and times would intertwine similar to how things played out on the island,if that makes any sense lol
There are so many themes in the show like redemtion and everyone on the island was given a "new Beginning" when they crashed on the island. I agree that all the lax business is to show how meaningless the entire show would be if they never crashed.
