Candidate chosen- everyone else unprotected?

So just in case this wasn't buried in some other thread, that i can't find.

Are the losties at risk now that Jack has been chosen?

All I can think of is Hurley's conversation w/Jack in the jungle in Everybody Loves Hugo.

Hurley: "Unless you (Jack) letting go gets us all killed."

I would say Yes....but who knows.
We also have the concept of the inherent "touch" of Jacob giving you "immortality" against yourself. Supposedly though someone else can still kill you but it might be that Smokie still cannot.

I think that whoever is protector of the island is the person that makes the rules. just a guess. if thats true then jack could make it so MIB couldn't kill the other losties. He could also make it where he could kill MIB. The crazy lady was the one who made it so MIB and Jacob couldn't kill eachother
