Geek Crafters Unite!

Hi DC-crafters and non-crafters alike!

I'm Cassie (I blog at The Mario Scarf) and I want to hold a meetup for geek crafters (regular crafting is just fine, too!). I REEEEALLY wish there was a geek crafting track of some sort besides cosplay tutorials and origami. Think of all the Harry Potter knitters out there making Weasley sweaters and the sewers with awesome dice bags!

Last year about ten of us met at the Pulse Bar in the Marriott on Saturday, but it was right as one of the big Venture Brother panels was meeting. I was thinking about something on Thursday night, Friday, or Saturday morning.

I haven't secured a location yet- I'd rather wait to get a head count of who's interested. I live in Atlanta (in East Atlanta, actually) and have a close family friend who works at the Marriott SOOO we may be able to secure a Marriott location or off-Con location somewhere nearby. All depends on who's into the meetup.

If you're a n00b to crafting but want to learn, we may be able to help you out at the meetup, provided it's something mobile like knitting, braiding, crocheting, cross-stitch, etc.
