I am assuming that the virus will be a big part of S4, and it is why others do not age or reproduce. I am guessing that the incident caused the others to have a plane crash and then they were exposed to the virus by Dharma.
I am guessing that the virus affects people of a certain genetic makeup one way, and the different people another way, and the list somehow is related to this. Rousseau's group was affected in the bad way and maybe these original inhabitants were affected the same way and is why they seem to be wiped out.
Somehow we will now see the others as good guys and these people coming on the ship are bad and related to the virus.
