Default Locke and Jack

So Jack wants to kill the island and John wants to kill Jacob.
Who is more likely to succeed if either?
If Jack does, it seems that John would never have the chance to kill Jacob.
If John does, does that mean John will then live in the cabin? And we have a whole new show.

Jack won't succeed if WHH unless the island we have now is some kind of clone or some other crazy **** happened.

And Locke may not succeed if Jacob is already dead, or if he has a change of heart, or if he didn't really plan on killing him all along.

I think there will need to be a balance between the two by the end of the series.

i highly doubt that jack will sucseed to be honest - not because we see the losties in 07 - i count the two are storyies on completly diff timelines until a mojor envent - i just dont think that he will get away with doin it to be honest - else there will not really be a season 6 - ........ unliess someone from 07 OFF the island goes back to 77 and stops him thereafter,..,.... but mite be far fetched
