I think we're creatures of habit, here...
Not many members stray this far down the forum.
I posted some really good interviews and appearances (TPTB, Emerson, etc...) in the Announcement forum, that I bet hardly anyone has seen... but that's life.

Flash Forward:
It's actually both, kind of...
I think what we are watching right now is the past, not the present. Like Desmond/Constant; we see him as looking back, but he was in 1996 looking forward. The Flash forwards happened in the past of the characters... they have already been thru it. It's us (and their past) who are seeing it for the first time.
The deeper drama of the show could be that things can change, but power of suggestion will tragically (or not) make their 'futures' come true.
For us (and their past selves) April 29th will come and pass, and the characters will be thinking back about what happened
when they saw the FF. They will realize that they helped create it, willingly or not.
This will be their current time as of November 2009 (our time.)
Long story, short... we are in the past, and they are in the present.
When it's said and done, the shock of flashforwards will be replaced by the characters trying to change things back to how they should have been. Mark will have to quit drinking again, Penny will have to reconcile with Mark for sleepinhg around, etc...
So yes, the future can change.
But the Flashes were actually the past, so they technically don't, in May 2010.
