Oh, right - maybe he wasn't dead. I guess I assumed, so he just took him to "heal him" in some mysterious way- did this have anything to do with 'qualifying' him to kill Jacob? Did MIB know he had to find a way, a loop hole to get Ben to do it? I wonder if he became 'chosen' at that time in the underground temple by MiB?

OK - so I'm confused by all of this.

MiB = smokey and Flocke?

Smokey can kill people (Mr Echo and french guys)
Flocke can't kill people

Why doesn't smokey just kill Jacob? Why go through the whole entire loophole thing? I mean, it must be pretty easy to kill Jacob - Ben just walked in there and basically shoved a knife in the guy's stomach.

its not a matter of killing poeple its a matter of not being able to kill someone in particluar for some unknown reason.

We have seen this already when Ben cant kill Widmore. His exact words to Widmore was when Widmore asked if ben was there to kill him Ben said "We both know I cant do that". I am focusing on the "cant" as opposed to I "wont" And for whatever reason Ben cant kill Wdmore is the same reason that Ben, most likely talking about Widmore after Alex was killed he sai "He changed the Rules", whatever the ules may be include killing another Other Others cant kill other Others without some type of penalty as we saw with Juliet.

Something to do with killing on of their own.

I honestly can't remember.

I haven't watched Lost in a while, since ived been waiting for the next season.

I'm going to re-watch this.

I'm still postive that the smoke monster has taken Lockes form, even though many disagree, but they need to look at it from another point of view.

Mhmm, you're right on the Ben vs Widmore sorta thing.

Is it because the island won't let him kill him? Maybe Ben can KILL Widmore on the island, but off the island he can't because he's still "banished" so if he's still "banished" then he must have something protecting him from Ben.

I think your onto something.

Ah, Ok I see what you are saying....but rules are always made to be broken.

Flocke couldn't kill Jacob because he was taken over by smokey who is in turn the MiB. So....are Jacob and MiB the original Others? And have they passed down their "rules" to all the others after them?

Wasn't there a line in Planet of the Apes that was something similar....Monkey can't kill monkey? That was a great movie.
