I've watched the S5 finale like 5 times, and there is something that jumps out at me every time that I wonder if anyone else has caught. If you watch the entire minute 25:00 - 26:00 of the finale, you can see what I mean. I don't have any video editing software, so I just took a few screen shots, but you really need to watch the minute I mentioned to get the effect.
The guy in the screenshots below is shown in almost the entire minute sequence. This is the scene where Jack and Sayid are leaving the Dharma house in Horace's jumpsuits with the bomb. You first see the guy when Sayid is looking at the window and he looks right into the window back at him. Then he is walking right in front of Jack and Sayid and even looks back at them twice....it's almost like he is clearing a path for them through all the chaos going on around them. He leads them right up to the point where Roger Linus spots them, and then disappears behind a Dharma house.
Just seems odd to me but also like it was clearly all set up that way. Hopefully someone can just tell me that I'm imagining it all, and reading too much into the show a this point. Then again, I guess I'll know by the end of the Summer what the answers to all my questions are.

We probably shouldn't delve too deeply into things like this (it reminds me of "the well-endowed woman" when Locke travels to NY to see Walt). Sometimes extras will be given more screen time if, lets say, they are relatives of someone working on the show, or friends, etc.
But my official answer will be: this guy is the creator of those fabulous fish biscuits we saw in S3.

I would have to say that it seem that they focus on him cause through the finale with jack and Sayid's Bomb mission it is a minute by minute take on how they gett to the spot, so thay are shown from different angles during their walk down the path in Dharmaville. So he had to be in the whole scene since Jack and Sayid are walking behind him.
I notice that about climaxes in the show, when in reality it takes 2 second to.... let's say throw a bomb in a hole.... it takes Jack 5 min and 45 seconds (just estimating). I mean wasn't the incident like a half an hour from when Sayid and Jack were in the Temple to begin with and at the end of a 2 hour show it just starts?

My guesses: He is the son of Carlton Cuse, a younger, taller brother of Sawyer, an extra, or one of the crew whom they needed in the scene. But it is very interesting and I too would like to know who he is!
btw, burninglotus77, who is the figure/silhouette in your avatar?
It is a piece from Tool's album Lateralus, created by Alex Grey (http://www.alexgrey.com). <-- Here is a link to his site if you are interested, I have several of his books.
