There is more than just leaders and followers
From what we all have noticed throughout our time of watching Lost there are the leaders and the followers the show has made that clear since day one.
The leaders make all of the choices and bear the crushing weight of responsibility and at the same time get to tell others what to do and if they make a mistake its usually their own fault.
The Followers are incapable or scared of making the tough choices and so would raver let someone stronger do the work and they just follow the instructions given to them on a few occasions these people have been referred to as sheep.
And as all of you may know these are not the only types of people in the show.
But has anyone noticed that there seems to be a third type of person in particular that doesn't lead or follow. I call these people observers they tend to blend into the background and watch what goes on around them rather than make their own mistakes to learn from other peoples mistakes nor do they follow mainstream standards but instead follow their own path's. Observers are obviously very manipulative and cunning and when an opportunity that they may profit from presents itself they step out of the shadows and twist any situation to their advantage sounds a bit like what Ben dose thus far I have managed to categorize most of the characters into these groups but their are still a few I'm a bit confused about Locke in particular.
At any rate I'm not sure if this has been discussed before and I can't be bothered looking back a few hundred pages.
