Default three locke's

topic says it all, now heres why, I may also be an idiot and completely wrong but in episode 4 we have three locks on the island at the same time.

Lock 1. Locke in Ajira people box.
Locke 2. Locke that kills Jacob
Locke 3. Locke on the outrigger getting shot at by the ajira people.

If this has aready been mentioned or you just think this is retarded feel free to ignore this.

I know this was shown to have happened later after locke is shot by ethan, but I am pretty sure that this is the first time it occured.

thats just time jumping lock at an earlier time jump, im reffering to the fact that while evil locke and dead locke were running around, time jumping locke is still alive and kicking

i am with you on this. maybe not within your line or reasoning, but agree with the idea that there are more than one locke. think about this...doesn't
it seem odd how throughout the series, out of all the people we have seen, locke is the only one who has seemed to change in personality, faith, and determination quite a few times. plus, he stabbed a woman in the back!!!! that doesn't go along with the 'huge heart' locke we think we know. i think we have seen many different lockes throughout the series and did not realize it.

Locke has been one of my favorite characters throughout the series. Part of it has been the fact that he seemed complex and despite being the "man of faith" re. the island he seemed to struggle with his beliefs. Sometimes he did seem to come at things from completely unexpected angles, which first time around I just nda chalked up to Locke being a bit eccentric and that his pre-identity an on-island indentityu seemed completely different. So perhaps his way of acting changed because he as a person was changed/changing and he wasn't always sure how to deal with that.

But .... now that I am re-watching the series there are a number of things about Locke right off the bat that make me sit back and say, "Hmmmm....." Perhaps there were multiple Lockes. One thing to consider is the scene in Season 1, Episode 4 when Locke comes face-to-face with the Smoke Monster and lives (apparently) to tell about it. Why would the monster spare Locke?

Well, if as commonly believed the monster scans people's memories and can appear as a person - what's to say it didn't scan Locke at that point and start occasionally appearing as Locke, esp. when the real Locke was away?

As far as Canoe Locke, Fake Locke and Dead Locke being present at the same time - I think that is entirely plausible - but am wondering what the significance would be.

Good point, Lostchap! I especially like what you said about Smokie scanning Locke. That scene specifically is what lends credence to the theory that Smokie and Anti-Jacob are on the same team...at least to me.

I struggle with figuring out why dueling Lockes would be beneficial as well but I have to say that it has added a whole new level of suspicion while re-watching past episodes.

I appreciate your thoughts & welcome to the family!!

.
In Episode 4,
Locke had not even left the island yet,so he couldn't have been in the Ajira box.
Locke did not kill Jacob,Ben did and that was way later in the finale ep 16.
Locke 3 is the only Locke we see in this episode.

But if you mean at the time of that incident;
the Locke that flashed to the future on the outrigger is the same Locke who flashes back, then goes off island and dies.
So there would only be 2 Locke's altogether in the end.

But if one of them is fake, then that leaves us with only one Locke.
