I was just looking at the famous photo of Mr. X and Jacob staring out to what we suppose is the Black Rock and I noticed that Mr. X's left hand is pretty mangled. It looks hurt and his left shirt sleeve is pretty torn up and tattered as well.
He's been "made up" for this. It looks like he was in an accident or something.
