Could be... except they weren't supposed to leave. Charlie entering the code is what allowed that. What I find interesting is (if I remember right, and I think I do) Ben told Patchy to help him clean up the mess he made by killing Charlie. I've thought for a while that Ben is changing things, but I don't know how.

I know Charlie knowing the code is what makes some say it is his destiny, but what if it means he's the last person who should have been there?

i've had similar thoughts, maybe it is des that is changing things. good point about charlie being the last person ben wanted down there. now if i remember right, ben had no idea about des and penny being a couple. is that right? just he tracked down penny and was shocked to see des?

Seems to me he'd have to know to be able to track her down. She was on Desmond's boat. Also.... didn't he go for her after he saw Des and knew they were in town?

yeah i'm not clear on it. yes he knew des was in town but i'm unsure if he was expecting des to be at the boat.

I'm sure he knew she was with Des. That's how he found her. I think he didn't expect Des to be back and didn't know about little Charlie. He wouldn't kill Penny in front of the kid and I doubt he would have even gone for her then and there if he knew he was on the boat. Ben has a soft spot for kids. <3
