So after rewatching the finale, I'm really starting to embrace the idea that Locke has been MIB all along...or at least since flight 815 crashed. Perhaps the real John Locke was killed on 815? I also think that Jacob must have known and wants this course of events to happen. I think it's possible that Locke's body will be taken to the temple and we might have dueling Lockes in Season 6. Maybe Locke's body will be a loophole for Jacob too?
I still would like to know who Ben got the order from that he had to bring Locke's body back on the Ajira flight. I think that is an important piece of information. Was it that blonde lady at the butcher's shop?
Last tought....I also believe Locke is the child that Widmore fathered that led to his banishment from the island.

Elolise Hawking said they had to recreate the original flight 815 manifest as close as possible. Locke's body substituted or proxied as they called it, for Christian. That's why Jack gave him the shoes.

As for JL being brought to the temple...ah, there is a spoiler from a few weeks ago or so. I don't want to say anything here about it but the spoiler may tell you if you are on the right track or not.
AHHHHH!! I am going "cold turkey" (a little day after Thanksgiving joke) from spoilers this season but I'm dying to know! Rats!!
You're right! It was Eloise, wasn't it? Thanks, Nots! That is curious.....
Oh, and I can't take credit for the Widmore being Locke's birthfather idea. I think it originated in a thread with Rachel & Notso actually but I think it makes a lot of sense, especially in light of the rewatch and my new perspective!

Thanks Lis, but I don't think I can take any credit for saying Widmore was JL's birth fater, as I've actually never thought that! It's not a bad thought, I just never went there. I presumed that because Locke's kidney was a match for Anthony Cooper that he really was his birth father. Doesn't have to be so but it is more Occham's Razor to me...
I always thought the same thing, Nots. I actually debated that fact when I first got here!! I thought it was you but it must've been Rachel and someone else. If you think about it, it makes a bit of sense! The timeline fits, the father was an older man and I really think Locke has lineage to the island. It also sets up his being both the dark side and the light.

Well, sorry to say but I just don't see it at all. You may very well be right but I'm not feeling it. Charles had a child that got him kicked off the island...Penny. Her mother still remains unknown, right? Ellie and Chuck are Daniel's parents, right? So, Chuck does get around! lol. As for it setting up a lineage on the island both dark and light side, again, sorry but I don't get it. I think the real JL is a pitiful whimp and the JL of the island was always Johnemesis. They are in two different worlds. That is why there are two physical bodies sharing the same spacetime now. The loophole was the crossing over from one world to the other by Johnemesis, IMO. It's fun to speculate though, isn't it? I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! Argh!!!!
Hm, it never occurred to me before that there would be now two different JL's on the island. I'm not sure whether this is a real possibility. It would be awesome for a parody if one JL was Jacob's Nemesis, and the other JL was Jacob himself.
(please don't take offense to this, I actually think this is pretty interesting idea that you have here )

This has a good point. Maybe that's why john had to die. The m,erging of two into one. Off island, john returned to the wheel chair, and failed at getting the O6 to come back. Everything about John of the Island was nothing like John on the Island. John on island felt whole now. Could JACOB TOUCHING locke after he was thrown out of the window to plant something or another

Oh my goodness, no offense taken whatsoever! But...there were actually three John Locke's on the island simultaneously. The Johnemesis, the body of John Locke and the John Locke at the beech craft that Johnemesis insisted on them going to and Richard delivering the compass and message. That is the crux of all this loophole stuff to me. He created the paradox of the compass and John Locke. That's quite interesting to me and always has been. Kind of a past, present and future iteration of John Locke. The past is John Locke at the beech craft, the present is Johnemesis and the future was the body of JL. John Locke died in January of 208, when the Ajira flight took off but they landed on Hydra Island in 2007. Pretty cool, isn't it? So, this is why I keep saying that the loophole was passing from one universe or alt world to the other.
