actually, i think maybe the smoke monster has been locke since they confronted each other..(season 2 i think)....but they did not show what happened.

Great post. If Smokie is in cahoots with f**khead, he is perfectly capable of scanning people's memories, right? I'm revising my original post and going back to my original line of thinking before the rewatch. I think it makes more sense that Locke was Locke until he came back on the Ajira flight and then he became f**khead.

If we believe that Smokie and f**khead are the same, or Smokie works for f**khead, then I think we already have a clear indication of how he had Locke's memories. Time and time again we've seen Smokie encounter someone and do nothing but "scan" them. With Eko you could see flashing images inside the smoke, with the Juliet and Kate encounter Smokie kept flashing like it was taking pictures, and when Ben went to be judged we could see flashing images in the smoke.
True. But post-Ajira Locke (presumably f**khead) said that he could remember dying and such. Which would've happened after Locke got Smokey-scanned. Miles can get memories off dead bodies, so shouldn't be a stretch to think that f**khead can.

Very true. Maybe Smokie got that bit of info from his judgement scan of Ben? Then again, just because we didn't see Smokie scan Locke's body doesn't mean it didn't happen. As I said, this seems as feasible as anything else!

Why is this all being discussed now as a revelation? I said over and over that the reason that MIB was able to pretend to be Locke was because MIB is Smokey and can scan people and know things about them.
Of course I was told thats ridiculous or insane and that Locke from anothre univers somehow crossed over and was here now.

Smokie can definitely scan dead bodies - see Yemi for more.
Edit: I'm not saying that f**khead used Miles, just that if Miles has the ability, as just a person and not a monster of smoke, then it's quite reasonable to expect that f**khead has too, without the aid of said smoke monster.
I suppose we don't really know that Smokie can download those memories into a 3rd party but it seems to be a popular theory. We certainly don't know that Miles can do that either.

Don't we know that Miles can 'sense' dead people's memories? I'm just saying f**khead could have Miles' ability to do the same himself. We haven't seen that yet either though.

I'm not sure why you're directing that at me because I've never told you or anyone else that their ideas are insane or ridiculous.
As shocking as it may seem, I don't read every post on the forum. I think we're just having a discussion and I'm personally considering things I've never really spent too much time considering before. Just because you said it over and over doesn't have anyting to do with it, LT.
