Naomi said the freighter was cruising at 80 nautical miles from the island.
The payload was sent at a distance of 40km (supposed) because of the 5km countdown.
So that would place the Freighter between 40 kilometers and 150 kilometers from the island.
Now we know that the payload took an extra 31 mins (approximately) but it didn't land till the 31 mins after it was sent
Is there any mention of how long it took the freighter team to fly from the freighter to the island? it seems to be taking the helicopter a very long time to get from the island back to the freighter.
which way round is it, longer to get to the island, or longer to leave the island?
has anyone worked out how you get 31mins 20sec from the two clocks?
I had wondered if the 6 digits are in a completely different to normal order for day, hour, sec, year. Has anyone worked it out?
I remember when they were taking Julia to the island in her little flashback. The people taking her had to drug her? I wonder if that has something to do with all this.
hey. this might sound stupid but i have to know. how do u know if the 31 is minutes? how do u know its not hours, days, weeks, etc? it didn't say minutes so how can you be so sure. i know that everyone has their own opinions but i really want to know. did we ever find out if it meant minutes?
Based on the tricked-out sat phones the freighter people are using, the fact that we've never seen the freighter, and the electric 'storm' that the helicoper encounters flying back to the freigher, i'm not sure the freighter exists in the same time frame as the losties on the island. we should know more about the frieghter on thursday.

Been busy with real life finally got to get on and I like this topic. I think it's something how the sound waves are "real-time" but movement of mass isn't. The bearings importance could be because the freighter will be in a different place/time if they leave on a a slightly different trajectory. Bad idea to come out a month later and no boat and no fuel. But the question would still be, would you age like Aaron would age if leaving the island and ending up with Kate a 3 years old or did it just take that long for them to go to trial...can't wait for Thursday.

It took longer for the payload to get to the island. I'm still trying to work the timing idea. Who is ahead in time? obviously the aging comes into it too.
Is time on island longer or shorter than off the island? if it's shorter on island then there might be rapid growth once back on the mainland. If it's longer thats tough bickies I suppose - that would really mess with your head with how long things feel. I've been reading transcripts from previous episodes and noticed that Jack said S3 Ep22/23 to air hostess that he wanted another drink, she said they land in 20mins and he said 20mins is a long time

Maybe the Dharma food drops were caught is this Time distortion and just recently made it to the Island! The time difference won't always be the same it depends on alot of factors that i am not smart enough to figure out.
