Is it a coincidence that Desmond is the only one that doesn't physically "time" travel, it's just his consciousness. In Flashes Before your Eyes when he skips, he wakes up in his past self... In the middle of something like falling off the ladder, or the military thing, or running naked trough the jungle. While the present Desmond is passed out. Im pretty sure all the other time traveling losties get to keep their bodies.
