Why was Sayid to be taken to the temple but not Juliet? I get that Jacob may have had his reasons one way or the other, but why wouldn't the rest of 'em at least consider taking Juliet to the temple?

I'm not so sure that smokie had his lair there. He just seemed to seep in through the holes in the grate in the sub-basement. He comes from way down deep I think.
im lost on that one, but sayid must be of great importance becuase JAcob said if he dies then they are in a lot of trouble. But im thinking it meant the "Spa of Life" and sayid was a test to make sure it still worked. but idk

Maybe Jacob had some kinda control over Smokie and controlled him to do the bidding of the Others but when Jacob died he was released and is now ready to raise serious amounts of hell.
