Ok, now we know that it is a very REAL possibility that Christian Shepherd is one of smokey's island identities. Christian influenced Claire to pretty much make sure Aaron gets off the island. We know Smokey's mission now. "To go home".
So my question is this. How would Aaron's presence hinder smokey? What role is Aaron supposed to play? My other question is are we only gonna see Claire in Flash-sideways, or is she gonna have scenes on island too?

Are you saying that MIB wanted Aaron to leave the island because he saw Aaron as some sort of a threat? Hmm.... I never thought about it that way.
I just assumed that he wanted Aaron to be safe from whatever was going to happen on the island.

Thats a very real possibility too LissaMarie. I mean, we don't know that Smoky's intentions are even bad yet. He may have killed, destroyed, etc. BUT his intentions may be good. Like me for example, i'm a participant in a war that has killed many, but we fight for freedom and democracy. Good intentions.

I see what you're saying, Navyguy. The lines are intentionally blurry in LOST I think. You're absolutely right! We can't assume one side is purely good and the other is wholly bad. I'm betting it's somewhere in the middle.

Yes, I had the same thought about it when I saw that look on MIB's face and the nasty things he said about how pitiful Locke was. It really seems as if they're setting him up to be the bad guy, right? I just don't want to be too hasty. I hate feeling like a puppet on TPTB's string.
