My favorite TV villain was The Grinch, and I kinda hate that he turned good at the end.
My favorite movie villain was HAL in 2001. I know it's a computer, but I view him as a villain. Hannibal Lecter wins best human villain, unredeemable.

Man... You guys seem to have caught them all. So many good names on this list. i am going to go with John Lithgow as the Trinity killer on Dexter. Granted he only had one season, but what a season. In those few episodes he gave me nightmares and chills. Lithgow is brilliant and pulled of a twisted serial killer with style... all the way to his last line... "It's already over."
