About leading Jack to water... I think he was trying to kill him in season 1. Running him off a cliff.

Also, John Locke was special. He had a special connection to the island. Since he died, maybe that connection is passing along to Jack.



What else did he lie about? Maybe all his 'answers' are just bs and can't be accepted? Or leading you in a particular direction?

I don't think MiB wanted any of them dead until Jacob was dead, because he needed to use them to kill Jacob. He might have needed Jack to think the way he did of Locke, that Locke was just a crazy old man, so he would lack faith.

That scene always struck me funny Jack falls off the the cliff holding onto a branch and out of no where Locke pulls him up. Not only does he pull him up but with no panic, he does not even say anything just puts his hand over and pulls him over. Why wouldnt the black smoke want Jack dead? As long as the candidates keep coming this keeps him on the island. Ilana was sent to protect them from MIB so I would think he would try to kill them. When he talks to Jacob on the beach he seems annoyed that more were coming. This whole get back on the plane deal I am not buying it. The plane is magically going to start and Frank will fly them home???I think he will have better luck turning the wheel to get off.

I think originally Jack was the supposed to die. In the very beginning he was the one that would lead everyone to their doom as Smokey would have posed as him. But the tv exec. didn't want the hero killed off so they used Christien throughout the show.

I think in fact I read that somehwre, that Jack was originally supposed to die early on, but for some reason TPTB changed their minds.

Mib needs the candidates alive to leave apparently but i ask myself where? They have to go back to the world they left behind not the flash sideways because of the others, if we are looking at it from this point of view I foresee another plane crash as the ending...
