richard malkin appears in two separate episodes.

when mr. eko, acting as a priest, attempts to investigate a girl who miraculously survived drowining, richard malkin tells him that he's a fake psychic. when malkin meets claire, he truly believes that she MUST keep her baby, to the point that he helps her to get on oceanic 815.

oddly enough, malkin is a "fake psychic" who is eventually able to foresee real future events (i.e. claire on the island, or whatever). similarly, mr. eko is a "fake priest" who eventually brings spirituality and "justice" to the other losties AND finds peace in his own life.

thats correct. personally, i'd like to see a little more of this guy - why he was desperate to have claire look after aaron herself and what was up with what happened to hs daughter.

i dont think he is a fake, i think this was a sotry created to aid in fobbing ecko off so he didnt investigate his daughter any further.

I was only just rewatching 'Raised by another' today and was wondering if Richard Malkin saw Claire's death the first time he did the reading?

Does anybody think that the title of that episode could be an attempt to throw us off? Richard Malkin told Claire not to let her baby be "raised by another." Could he have actually been telling her not to let her baby be "raised by an other"??
