Default ONE Source of EM on the Island!

Just had to make sure to mention this since there were a few disbelievers on the forum who gave me a very hard time LT about this and we now know that the EM from the Orchid and the Swan were from the same source.

but just to keep the topic moving, there can be many pockets and one source. obviously, it's an underground fissure of exotic dark matter, possibly originating under the volcano

while i'm on the subject, did anyone get the idea the temple may be built over the shiny yellow pocket...

I wonder if there won't be something similar to Stephen King's 'Desperation'. The workers in the China Pit didn't know what they were digging up, but it could have certainly be considered as "answers".

And by the end, a boy convinces a man who once had faith to gain it back again, and destroy the evil within the well beneath the China Pit, sacrificing himself. Jack and Locke, perhaps?

dammit that's an awesome book.

And once again I'm with Greg. it would make sense that the temple people harnessed that river and that is what created the magic pool.

yes, exactly. my feeling is it is a black body, a singularity. it all fits quite nicely. it is in an ice cave to keep the em emmisions at a minimum and when you turn the wheel it opens the apiture and heats it, which causes a great deal of em to be released and holds open the wormhole for the time travel.

i didn't think about the temple being built over that. i don't think so because the well that Locke fell down was just about over it, right?

not necessarily.

the well crazy momma filled in may have been the same well with the FDW--which would raise questions about it getting unfilled--or there may be more than one FDW.

but the wheel and the river were NOT the same location. so the temple could have been built over the river. remember a stream runs through the temple. that would also explain a lot such as why smokey was kept out by the temple keeper.

Okay, yes, the stream. I can buy that, sure. I thought you meant just the wheel, sorry. I agree also then that it fed the magic pool in the temple. We do know that there is more than one well. I think the cave we saw the wheel leaning against the wall is the cave that will become the frozen ice cave with the wheel. That block wall did seem to be the same one that the wheel is attached to. I think we even saw that old ladder there, too.

hahaha...yes, i am sure there is more than one ladder on the island but it was remarkably like the one that Ben fell from and hurt his arm. but, in the grand scope of things, i don't think it really matters right now.
