I've been lurking pretty much since I joined the board, apart from the odd comment, but Im wondering does anyone have theories on why the island was underwater in the "sideways" at the start of the last season. As it did turn out to be purgatory.
The general feeling is that since the FS was created by the characters, that the island underwater may have been symbolic in the fact it was no longer a part of their lives. It may have also just been a red herring thrown in by the writers to convince us that the timeline really was a FS.

Yes, The losties wanted to do a reset with the bomb. In their Psychically created virtual world this is what happened. Personally I don't think the bomb ever went off.

I wasnt faked out because I never believed it was an alt world at all. true my thoery that it was a dream/vision was wrong I just never saw it being an alt world or the show had anything to do with multi universes
