Dead Wrong?

Sorry, this isn't about the Walking Dead... heehee

Can any of you remember some cool eye openers from LOST where we were almost certain something would turn out one way but turned out differently?

One that comes to my mind was all the concern about Desmond's ulterior motive to get back to his beloved Penny by telling poor Charlie he had to die to save Claire/Aaron.

Nice ultimate reassurance that Des did, in fact, "see" Claire leave the Island (ok, it was a plane, not a chopper, but...)

Plus... if Des would have resorted to anything like lying to Charlie to get back to Penny, he would not have left her once again to go help his friends in S-5 and 6.

Oh, another thing. Mrs. Hawking... She appeared to be so in charge of things, I think many of us were shaken to hear that the only important thing Des would do was push the button and that he would NEVER be with Penny.

....TA DAAAAA!!! WRONG, you wicked old woman!! HAHAHA


Anyone think of other proclamations or events proven wrong?

We all thought that Aaron was going to be a really important factor in the story when about the only thing he really did was get Claire on the plane.

Did it really matter if Whidmore found the island in the long run? I mean what would he have done, build a couple hotels or have some surfing competitions?
