Some believe it's because of something Miles said to her in the house when they were under attack. Others look at her actions in dealing with Christian as a reason to think she's not dead.

IMO there a chance simply because there's no good reason she would up and leave her son in the jungle and go hang out with Christian unless she was dead and Christian explained that to her. Why would a perfectly normal person react like that?

On the other hand, before on the island, when someone dies, they just die (as far as we know). They don't walk around while others interact with them as if nothing was wrong and suddenly realize they are dead for whatever reason.

I just don't think that look miles gave her means she's dead. He's weird around charlotte too but I still think she's alive. What so now everytime a baby is abandonded in the jungle it means the mother is dead. i'm just kidding I was just curios about what I was reading i'm not sure either way.

Remember the flashback when the Others took Claire to examine her unborn baby? They gave her some drug that made her act happy and unafraid of them. Later when she returned she had no memory of what happened to her. Maybe it's the same with her and Christian. Christian is her Dad, so she goes with him and she is given a shot. The way she acted in the cabin is the same way she acted before with the Others-- happy and unafraid.

I don't believe she is dead, only drugged.

i think its because she so readily walked away from aaron who she is fiercely protective over. also, we had miles hint a little too.

however, i am not 100% convinced she is dead - i honestly have noooooooooo idea!

I dont believe she is dead either. Not enough evidence. And we might not even get an answer next season since Emilie de Raven is not part of the main cast but she has a holding contract until season 6. Who knows?

I too am interested in that laid back non caring attitude Claire had when Locke was in Jacob's Cabin because she did act the same way when Ethan had her in that room showing her where the baby would be.

Christian (Jacob's mouthpiece) is confirmed dead by the producers yet he was interested in the baby as he was Claire and even Jack in a previous episode.

So, I think when you die on the island it is different than when you die off the island.

Christian didn't die on the Island. And we don't know if Claire is dead.
