Getting ready to head out. Hopefully I'll be back in a couple of days but the last time I thought that I couldn't get home for five weeks. The good news is that the storm has degraded somewhat from a cat. 4 to a cat. 3. It'll be back to a 4 today but at least it won't be a 5 when it hits.

I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers. If the worst happens remember that the most effective assistance after Katrina came from private organizations and church groups.The organization kind of fumbled the ball but individual red cross volunteers made a world of difference .

I'll check in once more before i leave and then I won't be around for awhile.

He was going to leave about 8am today. I would guess he's stuck in traffic right about now. The storm is forcast to make landfall Monday.

I'm glad they made it mandatory to evacuate, aren't you? There are always a few die hards that, with the best intention, remain, but in the end, only cause more havoc for everyone trying to then rescue them.
