Hard to say whether she heard or not but the face she gave Jack after Claires mom talk to her briefly beofre leaving would indicate she heard what she had said. So my guess is she did hear the whole conversation.

Yeah I was watching that last night and I wondered the same thing. But Kate clearly gives Jack a terrifying look once Claire's mom leaves. Also, I feel like in one of the flash forwards they have a discussion about Jack being Claire's sister....but I could be wrong, its been awhile!

Yes, it did come up right in a round about way before Jack walked out on Kate. He snapped at her something along the lines of he is not your family or something similar when they were fighting because Kate was doing something for "him". When they turned, Aaron was standing right there and Kate ran for him. Jack then left.

Some other interesting tidbits I came across on Aaron.

# Aaron is the name of Kyle Rayner, the Green Lantern's father, who was in the military and worked for a covert government agency. Aaron Rayner left his family when Kyle was almost three years old. Kyle Rayner is one of the main characters of Walt's comic book, originally belonging to Hurley.
# The biblical Aaron is the great-great-grandson of Jacob (through Levi, Kohath and Amram).
#Aaron is currently being "raised by another" (Kate instead of Claire) despite the many warnings that Richard Malkin gave to Claire. Coincidentally, however, he was briefly raised by a Los Angeles-based family (Jack and Kate) as Malkin had originally intended. Alternatively, Malkin's warning could be interpreted as saying that Aaron should not be "raised by an other" meaning that it was very important he was not kidnapped and raised by the Others.

I never thought of it that way.
