What if she sent them to get Kate in the frame of mind to go to the island, if there is anywhere in the world you can hide your kid it is on an island that does not exsist. Maybe Sun knows (from Widmore) that Sun is alive and needs all of them to go back so she can find Jin. What do you think Kate will do if she finds out Sawyer is alive on the island.

Sorry if this posted twice

Sayid and Hurley despite happening later in the show, basically picked up where season 4 ended last year. I think it is safe to say that. As for Ben, Jack, Locke's body and the butcher, we really have no idea WHEN that took place in relation to the incident with Sayid. For all we know Ben and the butcher scene happened 2-3 days before Sayid "rescued" Hurley from the mental hospital.
Actually, we do have an idea when this all takes place. Ben and Jack's storyline also picked up exactly where season four ended, the very same night, just like Sayid and Hurley's. From there they go to a hotel where they see the report of 3 dead people at Santa Rosa, with Hurley missing and the presumed killer. This is before Ben and Jack seperate, and before Ben goes to the butcher shop. Judging by this, all these events are happening at the same time, or very close together.

Yes you can. Despite what people may think, this show does have a few rules to it that they always abide by.

Like I posted before, every episode stays in chronological order according to that episode. Everything happens from start to finish. That episode may be out of order when it comes to the complete Lost timeline, but all events in that episode occur chronologically. If you look at any episode, you will see this is true. Aside from jumping between the present and a flashback (or whatever), the events occur in order.
