Did any one else find it strange that the arrows were on fire? What group of people, and I don't mean on the Island, shoot fire arrows?
So the uniforms were actually the Military ones that they took over right?? Were did they live before they took over the tents?
I just thought it was a strange thing unless we were suppose to get something out of it like what kind of " people " shoot fire arrows so we would know what time period they came from.
Also this question and don't think it is dumb...do you think that there are people from the US military that are still alive?

Ephesians 6:
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
No silly! I think the Others were shooting flaming arrows at intruders on their land! Strangers in a strange land, you might say...ha, ha. It was just a quote from the Bible I found when I googled flaming arrows and the crusades. Flaming arrows have been used throughout midevil history I believe, as well. Flaming arrows, boiling caldrons of oil, etc., etc.
I have said all along that Richard is evil. I like the character a lot, but I think he is the Devil or a Demon. Here's why:
The Black Smoke Monster was described by Kelvin or someone else as a Cerberus event (its written on the door that Locke sees under the black light when he is pinned). If you look up Cerberus, you'll see that it is a guarddog to Hell only allowing souls in but never letting them out once they are in. Now think back to Yemi and Eko. Yemi, when talking with Eko was really just the Black Smoke Monster appearing to be Yemi. The writers have confirmed that Yemi was indeed the BSM at one point in the series. Also, Ben and Richard work together and Ben has some control over the BSM so he is Evil, which is not hard for people to believe. Jacob is good, and that's why only Locke could hear him. He needs Lockes help to overtake evil (Richard and Ben).
The Cerberus Vents, or CV's written on the blast door map, are most likely references to a series of underground tunnels that perhaps are used by smokie. Either that or where smokie has been seen coming out from.
Cerberus also refers to a very specific, highly technical type of alarm system. And, smokie has also been called that as well.

i think that may have been their only form of weapons until they knocked off the u.s. military and confiscated all the firearms.
I've come to believe that the smoke monster isn't good, but I don't think it is Richard, either, and I don't think Ben knows exactly what it is; he just knows that it can be used as a weapon. In fact, I don't think anyone other than Jacob could possibly know what it is.
Rather, I think that, if it has any kind of "true form," that would be Abaddon. I don't know why, but it just seems right. Maybe it's his eyes. In that one flashback in Cabin Fever, his eyes look rather odd.
Perhaps Richard wanted Locke to come with him because otherwise this Abaddon would take him down the wrong path, whatever that is(perhaps it's as simple as choosing the knife(the more violent, like that of Ben and Charles), or the Book of Laws). Maybe Locke has been following the wrong path ever since, though Jacob may have been trying to pull him over to his side.
Then there's Christian Shephard who, much like Yemi, has had their corpse dissapear. I think the smoke monster may be trying to pass itself off as a "Christian shephard" in order to appear he's on Jacob's side, and to trick Locke into making bad things happen.
Either way, none of the Others except for Ben and Juliet have ever been in the same scene with the smoke monster, and Dharma just so happens to build a fence that it cannot penetrate. I think it is a threat to anyone, good or bad.
