this is awesome, i started this thread because of what i had remembered from history and thought it was interesting that it was in the same area that LOST had flight 815 crash in. but i totally forgot about the amelia lady from season 1...so thanks everybody for all the cool info and input. one thing is for certain i am glad the writer's strike is OVER and the creative juices of the LOST writers can continue and we can continue to over think and theorize ever episode...haha

amelia IS a member of the book club and the place that richard meets juliet at to driug her (the airline company name) is an anagram of earheart.

But why would it be so significint? to the story if it was amelia earhart?

Because her disapperance has always intrigued historians and it would be a cool little side story to have her possible being one of the actual "original natives" of the Island.
