I think that it is very possible that the monster can mimic people, like being Christian and when it mimicked Yemi, Eco's brother. Which leads me to believe that the Monster, indeed, is Jacob. The monster is the leader of the island and protects the sanctuary (where Imo, all the dead people are that he has killed. Like Eco), and mimics itself to be a house where "Jacob" is. That may be far fetched, but I really think it's a possibility.

I think that it could be like that because the monster could be anyone it wants to be, mirages as such or people that are desired to be seen. Ala the horse kate seen, Christian, Yemi....

I really think I have a great idea here!

Christian hasn't taken the place of Jacob, Jacob has taken the place of Christian.

Jacob can mimic things, and things people on the island want to see. Like Yemi, Kate's horse, Jack's dad...etc...

The smoke monster is Jacob, itself. It can blend it to be anything it wants to be.

I don't see how it can be disapointing, it seems like a very good idea to me.
