I believe when Richard was the leader before Ben he used to speak to Jacob. In Season three episode 20 the Man Behind the Curtain, when Lock asks Ben to take him to see Jacob and ben refuses to at first. Lock then says "well if you won't take me then maybe Richard will". Ben says "Richard doesn't talk to Jacob I'm the only one that talks to Jacob". When Ben said that about Richard I kinda was getting the hint that he didn't want Jon to ask Richard to take him because Ben wants to feel like the one with all the power and wants jon to think he is the only one that can talk to him. Let me know what you guys think about this.
Me too. I'm DYING to know more about Richard. All we know is that he seems to have more quiet wisdom like Mrs Hawking than Ben or Widmore have, but doesn't lead. There are so many questions to be answered in this season and the next, I don't know how they're gonna cram it all in!
