Default Future Miles looks at Past Miles

We have been having long debates on whether it was possible to have two Sawyers, two Lockes, two Charlottes, or two Miles on the island at the same time. (Ok so really there are not two because they are the same but thats the easiest way to put it). We had Changs Bunny experiment video where we got the impression that if the two bunnies saw each other something very bad would happen.

I think from last night episode we solved the question. It is possible to have two Miles on the island at the same time and they can see each other. Im guessing they can even interact with each other.

Is it safe to say Mystery Solved?

Yes, I'm glad you pointed this out. What we saw last night in "Some Like it Hoth" should put to rest the debate that two different time-versions of the same person cannot be in the same location at the same time.

This should also nullify the theories that Charlotte didn't make it through the last flash because her younger self was on the Island.

That's exactly what I thought too, guess that idea's out the window. Maybe the flashes just got to be too much for her to handle

Yep. Some genius on this board already posted these thoughts that by Miles seeing himself it eliminates the thought that the same person can't exist twice in the same spot.

But I forget who said it.

Oh, that was me.

But seriously, this is something that definitely needs to be reiterated because it's important.

We don't really know. However, given that the same rabbit was in the room twice and that Miles could see himself as a baby, we can ignore the idea that you can't be in the same time as your past/future self.

There may still be rules against making contact with yourself or something like that, but we don't know that for sure. But, like I said, we can definitely say that existing in the same time as your former/future self is a possibility.

I beleive Charlotte was the first to go because she had the most exposure to the island. Miles would have been next had the flasshes not stopped.

While he could see himself from a fair distance away.....the "dont let them get near each other" statement. come from the belief that - The same matter (person) cannot occupy the same space at the same time, else your past version will disappear......

reb

p.s. The movie Timecop makes a good illustration of this.
