Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Mira Furlan to Appear at Dragoncon

related links: Javi at Dragoncon and Mira at Dragoncon

For those interested in science, technology, cryptography, the paranormal, or science fiction and fantasy , Dragon*Con is THE place to be. Attendees are often seen dressed as Catholic school girls, Roman soldiers, and walking PEZ dispensers.
Dragoncon 2006 will take place in Atlanta from September 1 through the 4th. The host hotels for 2006 will again include the legendary Atlanta Marriott Marquis and the familiar surroundings of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta along with their new co-host hotel, the Atlanta Hilton

The Marriott will host the "daytime" convention functions (Autographing, Art Show/Print Shop, Dealers Room and Exhibit Hall, etc.), while the Hyatt will once again host all 24-hour programming events, Computer Gaming, Video Rooms, the Convention Hospitality Suite (or "Consuite"), Concerts, etc.Dragon Con TV will be available in all three hotels.

The Hilton is across the street from the Marriott which is connected by a climate-controlled tube-way to the Hyatt. The Marriott is easily the most architecturally unique hotel in the city, if not the entire Southeast.
LOST fans get a special treat with the presence of both Mira Furlan (The French Lady) and Javier Grillo-Marxuach (LOST writer). Mira Furlan is a star of both stage and television. While LOST fans know her as The French Lady, fans of Babylon 5 remember her as Ambassador Delenn.
While Mira Furlan plays a character, writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach is a character. He is always a fan favorite because he enjoys meeting the fans. As well as being a laugh riot, he knows everything about science fiction. Other LOST writers defer to Javi when questions regarding Star Trek or Star Wars arise. There are rumors that Javi can also sing Klingon opera.

LOST fans planning to attend should buy tickets early. Last years event had a 4 hour wait for those buying tickets at the door.
